Tiny House Retreat
Relax and recharge in nature
Tiny house, big views.
Our tiny house is nestled in the Bonogin Valley.
Backing onto Wildlife Conservation Forest, you can relax in privacy while taking in views of the Gold Coast skyline. Wake up to birds singing, kangaroos on your doorstep and hundreds of acres to explore.
This hideaway is the perfect destination for relaxing, hiking and nights by the open fire.
acknowledgment of country
We respectfully acknowledge the people of the Yugambeh language region, the traditional owners of the land we reside on, and pay our respect to their elders past and present, and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
We are located in Bonogin Valley.
The origin of the name Bonogin is believed to originate from an Indigenous Australian word Boonoo, which means red bloodwood.
Corymbia gummifera, commonly known as red bloodwood, is a tree species endemic to eastern Australia. It has rough, tessellated bark on the trunk and branches, lance-shaped adult leaves, flower buds in groups of seven, creamy white flowers and urn-shaped fruit. It is also characterised by the red-coloured kino gum. You’ll be sure to spot a few on the property!
Welcome to hamar house
Unwind in the hot tub
Your private hot tub awaits.
With views of the Gold Coast skyline, this is the ultimate spot to relax after a big day. Upon nightfall, the milky way will provide the evening’s entertainment. Shooting stars and the sounds of nature surround you. If you look closely, you might even spot a firefly on a spring night.
A fire with a view
Enjoy nights by the fire taking in sunset views and a shimmering skyline.
The perfect spot to celebrate milestones and plan future adventures. The fire pit is nestled into the hill, just below the tiny house, and wood is supplied by your hosts.
Enjoy tiny living
Our tiny house is the perfect spot to escape the hustle of city life. Enjoy the simple pleasures; soft sheets, fresh coffee and a good book.
We have designed the space to bring in views of nature from every angle. From the kitchen to the shower, you’re connected to the outdoors. Throughout the tiny house, we also have a range of beautiful artwork from Australian artists. Find inspiration at every turn and allow nature to work its magic.
Life on the deck
What’s life without a little celebration?
Enjoy complimentary home baked goods and a bottle of wine on arrival. The deck is a beautiful spot to enjoy the sunrise, watch the birdlife and spot kangaroos. And don’t forget the swing chair to cosy into on lazy afternoons.
Eco-friendly & Self-contained
We collect rain water, have solar power on the property and use a compostable toilet system.
Gentle on the planet, happy on the heart.
Treats on Arrival
You will be treated to chocolates and a bottle of wine on arrival.
You’ll also enjoy fresh farm eggs to cook up for breakfast.
The Ultimate Location
We’re a quick 10-minute drive from all your essentials; cafes, restaurants, groceries and bottle shop. The beaches are a 25-minute drive, Springbrook is a 35-minute drive (hiking, waterfalls and cafes) and the Gold Coast airport is 25 minutes away.
Cruise to the top, buggy style.
The tiny house is located off-road, at the top of a hill.
A golf buggy will be waiting for you at the entrance of the property and you will use that to cruise up to the top.
Get ready for a bit of adventure!
Please note: If you’re not comfortable driving the buggy, we can ferry you up to the tiny house 😊
Testimonials
“My partner and I had such a wonderful time at Hamar House! We've stayed at a few Airbnbs now and this has certainly been one of our favourite experiences.
The tiny house is in a gorgeous location, surrounded by forest and beautiful views of the GC. It's appointed with everything you need to make yourself comfortable whilst away from home. The space is functional and aesthetically pleasing with lots of plants and beautiful artwork and decor. The kitchen was a good size, very well equipped and had a beautiful little basket of goodies for us to enjoy on arrival! There were personal and thoughtful little touches everywhere you turned in the tiny house.
The loft bedroom had beautiful views and a really comfortable bed, making for a great night's sleep.
Overall I can't fault Hamar House. Edda and Inga were the most approachable and accommodating hosts. We can't wait to return for another relaxing stay!”

“This place was our own little eco haven.
Gave us a taste of what we could expect from tiny house living, but with all the perks of home and with the benefits of the surrounding hinterland. Wildlife lovers will be pleasantly surprised, and your only 20 minutes from the Gold Coast beaches.
Edda was an extremely accommodating host, and we would be over the moon to be welcomed back. Book it!”
